Job summary

The Epilepsy Team here at NUH are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 Epilepsy Nurse Specialist post.

This post would be an ideal opportunity for a Registered Adult Nurse to develop and enhance existing clinical skills and knowledge in the specialist field of epilepsy.

The successful candidate would experience working within the adult epilepsy specialist nursing service providing advice and support to patients, families, carers and other health professionals through actively participating in clinics and supporting our telephone / email helpline.

Additional education and training is available for applicants lacking experience for some aspects of the role.

You will be working alongside an established epilepsy team comprising of Consultant Neurologists and Epilepsy Nurse Specialists.

You will be play an active role in :

Our dedicated epilepsy clinics

Offering a telephone advisory service for patients, families and carers

Liaising with other professions including:

Paediatric colleagues at NUH, Notts partnership healthcare trust - Intellectual Disability Service, Primary Care colleagues

You will be given opportunity to participate in more specialised epilepsy related clinics such as supporting our joint pregnancy clinics where we provide pre conception advice and close follow up of women with epilepsy who are pregnant.

Also opportunity for exposure to support patients with Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) both in the general epilepsy and Specialist VNS clinic.
