Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice Quality & Business Administrator to join the Pathology Quality, Training & Safety team, supporting quality, training, safety & business agendas. The role covers working across all Pathology services based at Nottingham University Hospitals. In addition the post holder will be given opportunities to participate in and support Divisional activities and work with different staff groups across the Trust. The job provides an opportunity to learn about the Pathology departments and provides a basis for progression.
The successful applicant will be given a fixed term employment contract for the period of 24 months. During this time you will work towards your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. This role is full time, where you would be expected to complete 6 hours per week study.
[The duration of the apprenticeship is 24 months subject to regular reviews to demonstrate progress and following successful completion will move into a substantive position. Apprentices will commence on Annex 21 of the salary stated and to support development in the role the postholder is required to complete a Level 3 Business administrator Apprenticeship over the period of the apprenticeship.]
It is essential to have 4 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and IT skills
To be successful you must be able to work independently and to deadlines.
Main duties of the job
This post will provide administrative support to the pathology corporate quality and business teams and senior management. The post will have specific input into the Quality Management System - this is how we evidence laboratory services meet the international quality standard ISO15189.
Administrative duties include but are not limited to: Duties associated with the receipt, collection, handling, production and distribution of written materials and electronic records.
Answering queries.
Maintenance of various databases including the Q Pulse electronic quality management system and the use of DATIX incident/risk management systems.
Ordering & invoicing.
Keyboard skills are a requirement for this role, as is the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
The post involves participation in outreach and patient engagement activities.
