We are looking for an experienced and motivated communications and engagement professional to work alongside our busy Family Health division and as part of the wider communications function.

As a Communications Business Partner you will be responsible for internal comms and staff engagement, proactive and reactive media relations and engaging with our stakeholders - suiting an all round comms professional keen to take the next step in their career and help us make a difference.

Main duties of the job

This promises to be a varied, rewarding and at times challenging role involving working directly with colleagues at all levels within the Family Health Division.

You will be responsible for helping colleagues have the right information to do their jobs caring for patients to the best of their ability, you will help find and share stories of excellent care and innovation, as well as to manage sensitive reactive media in a responsible way. You will be a key part of the Trust's continued maternity improvement journey.

The successful candidate will work directly in to the Deputy Director of Communications with the wider professional support of the function, as well as embedding themselves with colleagues within the Family Health Division.

NHS experience is not essential. What matters most is that you have a want to learn, a commitment to continually improve and a desire to make a difference.

  • Educated to postgraduate standard or equivalent experience in internal and external communications
  • Excellent level of English, written and verbal
  • Evidence of continuous self-development

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in communications, or working towards this standard
  • Evidence of a solid understanding of patient confidentiality and the relevant aspects of libel law, the Freedom of Information Act, Equality Act and Data Protection Act.
