Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Services Directorate as a Speciality General Manager working with the following clinical services :

  • Allergy and Immunology
  • Rheumatology
  • Diabetes and Endocrine

The Clinical Services Directorate forms part of the Ambulatory Care Division which incorporates a wide range of clinical specialities providing Out-patient ,Day case and In-patient Care.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a candidate who has experience of managing and delivering challenging performance targets to enable us make progress with improving our RTT performance and reducing waits times. Knowledge and experience of PTL management, including validation is crucial with the ability to work autonomously to deliver demanding and competing pieces of work.

Within this role you will be required to provide oversight and assurances with regards to the financial management of these services including the identification of schemes that enable deliver of cost improvement and quality benefits.

Strong communication skills are critical in this role with the ability confidently engage and influence with a wide range of individuals both internal and external to the directorate, division and NUH. We are developing positive relationships with our ICB colleagues in the review and redesign of clinical pathways to address fragility of services and ensure equity of access to services.

With this role there will also be an opportunity to be actively involved in leading the redesign and implementation of new care pathways in partnership with the clinical team . This is an exciting time to be part of this leadership team as we work to develop the clinical pathways for pts with long-term conditions to maximise the use of technological advances to improve pt care in line with NICE and GIRFT recommendations. Experience of leading , implementing and evaluating changes to service models using QSIR methodologies would be an advantage for this role.
