Job summary
The Nottingham Bioresource is a centralised, quality assured platform for enabling clinical and translational research in Nottingham. The Nottingham Bioresource is licensed under the Human Tissue Act and has ethical approval to collect, store, and release, a range of blood, fluid and tissue samples for research.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be:
- Responsible for the NUH NHS Bioresource, including Operational management and leadership of departmental resources, technical services, staff, finance, equipment and space.
- Responsible for the overall operation of the Bioresource providing a quality led, efficient and safe service, and provide specialist advice on scientific and technical issues.
- The professional lead for all Bioresource staff, to be responsible for all professional aspects of the service and encourage the highest professional standards through personal and staff development.
- Responsible for compliance to the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) research licence, associated biobank and research governance standards and procedures.
