Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a developing role working across two teams at the Nottingham Treatment Centre and Queens Medical Centre. The role has a specific focus on working between the trauma orthopaedic and elective orthopaedic, plus rheumatology MSK occupational therapy services.
The role will focus on treating out-patients with a range of upper and lower limb trauma and elective orthopaedic conditions, and a more complex caseload of rheumatology patients. This includes the fabrication of splints and braces. Some involvement in discharge planning of in-patients on a small short stay unit following elective orthopaedic surgery will also be included.
Main duties of the job

To summarise you will be required to:
- Assess and provide appropriate treatment for a range of upper and lower limb elective/trauma orthopaedic and rheumatology conditions.
- Assess for, fabricate and fit a range of upper and lower limb splints and braces.
- Assess and treat patients to facilitate discharge and to support rehabilitation.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Deputise for the band 7 team leader as appropriate.
- Provide supervision to junior and support staff.
- Contribute to student education.
- Contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive in-house MSK service teaching programme.
- Manage own time and caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Work flexibly including bank holidays and rostered weekends to support the in-patient service.
