Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Health & Safety Advisor to join the Corporate Health and Safety Team. This post willreport to the Health and Safety Lead and is based within the Corporate Health and Safety Team.

The post will be based in Nottingham, with work across all Trust sites to support the delivery of effective health and safety and assisting teams inmeeting their statutory responsibilities and health and safety needs.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a team who are required to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, deliver training, investigate incidents and carry out inspections and audits of practice against Health and Safety policy and procedures and support the H&S lead in ensuring the highest professional health and safety adviceis available

Your role will see you promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Trust ensuring that you provide professional support to all levels of healthcare professionals and management in the area of health and safety for NUH.

We are looking for someone that is experienced in health and safety and has a recognised health and safety qualification. Someone who ismotivated and enthusiastic and able to work and act on their own initiative with minimum supervision and possess the ability to work andcommunicate effectively in a pleasant manner with all members of staff, patients and visitors across NUH.

As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a team focused approach. Previous experience ofworking within a healthcare environment or the NHS is desirable but not essential.

You need to be able to demonstrate; strong interpersonal, communication, training and presentation skills, be organised and possess strong IT skills.
