NEW OPPORTUNITY AT NUH - 'CLINICAL SPECIALIST OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST IN ACUTE MSK REHABILITATION'
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist for inpatient Musculoskeletal services across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for embedding, and leading on the provision of, acute inpatient rehabilitation across our Elective Orthopaedic, Trauma, Major trauma and Spinal injuries services with the aim of preventing deconditioning and expediting recovery and patient flow. Early patient intervention, coordination and decision making around discharge and rehabilitation pathways, including transition of care from the acute hospital to the National Rehabilitation Centre, is integral to this role.
We require a candidate who is able to work strategically to plan, develop and coordinate our MSK services alongside the multidisciplinary leadership team within the relevant specialities including close collaboration with the Outpatient MSK Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist, the Therapy Services Manager and Clinical Lead Therapists
These posts are suitable for experienced band 7 Occupational Therapists with advanced clinical experience in early/acute assessment and rehabilitation who can demonstrate the enthusiasm and ability to work at Clinical Specialist level. Some provision of splinting and bracing will be required alongside senior colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will be registered Occupational Therapists. They will be a strong clinical leader who demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise and who is highly visible and accessible to Therapy staff throughout the MSK service. They will drive and lead service improvements and support the wider team with teaching and training. They will work closely with the Therapy Services Manager, Clinical Lead and also with the MSK Specialty Management Team to ensure services are developed in line with the Trust vision.
