The post holder with provide leadership on public health and develop strategies to promote and facilitate quality improvement in all clinical settings and will: including the oversight and responsibility for all elements of Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, monitoring progress and implementation, line management and support the infant feeding team with BFI accreditation and lead and support stop the smoking agenda.

Main duties of the job

Assist the Deputy Heads of Midwifery in the development of the professional midwifery agenda to deliver locally agreed objectives and achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.

Demonstrate relevant clinical expertise to support and lead the delivery of high standards of practice within maternity services across all clinical areas.

Lead and support maternity staff to develop their full potential and capability in supporting women and their families during pregnancy, labour and birth and the postnatal period with the public health agenda to maximise optimum health choices and outcomes.

Work closely with the Director, Head and Deputy Heads of Midwifery, the wider team and other key stakeholders to support leadership within a Maternity Service that is responsive to the needs of women and its staff.

Take a lead in the development of staff and guidance to support public health, prevention and health inequalities agendas with particular focus on delivering the locally identified quality objectives.
