Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals' Digital Services provide services to the City Hospital, Ropewalk House and Queen's Medical Centre Campuses, including the Nottingham Treatment Centre. It comprises a multi-disciplinary team of IT professionals responsible for providing a wide range of services in information technology, knowledge management, computing and telecommunications to the Trust's 16,000 staff and the wider health community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Senior Commercial Analyst to join the Strategy and Finance section of the Commercial Team within Digital Services Department at the Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust; to support the delivery of the Digital Services Capital Programme on a 24 month, fixed-term contract/secondment.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate you will have experience of leading on the development of the Business Cases and Investment Proposals; have an understanding, practical experience of demand and capacity planning, and modelling for a variety of scenarios relating to the Digital Services Commercial and Contracts portfolio. Able to convey medium and long term plans based on evidence and statistical analysis, to continually enhance the format of information provided and seek to provide innovative solutions to help inform decision-making across the Trust.

This role will form an integral part of the existing Digital Services management structure, will be expected to cover colleagues across the Commercial Team and have a team player approach to enable achievement of department goals.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • Prince2 Foundation

Desirable

  • Prince2 Practitioner.

Experience

  • Extensive experience working within business process and workflow. Analysis skills gained through significant experience working in large scale and complex environments.
  • Experience of working with recognised industry standard methodologies and diagramming techniques to document business processes and workflows to visualise and convey the resulting technical requirements and implications.
  • Experience of interrogating and analysing data from relational databases and other sources.

Desirable

  • Experience in large scale transformational programme of work.

Communication and relationship skills

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels, recognising the differing needs of customers & responding appropriately, skills demonstrating the ability to use tact, sensitivity and diplomacy
