Main duties of the job

You should have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, a passion for the delivery of high quality, compassionate care.

Work alongside a registered nurses to provide individualised care.

Supporting new starters and students.

Working with the MDT to ensure safe transfer or discharge of our patients.

To maintain clinical competence through CPD and mandatory training requirements.

To ensure clear and timely record keeping of all assessments and care provided

Maintain good communication with patients and their relatives including the MDT

Job description

Job responsibilities

The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient/client care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

The post holder will support the Registered Nurse in ensuring the delivery of high quality patient/client care upholding dignity, delivered with kindness and compassion.

Provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients/clients during a care episode.

Actively contribute to an effective learning environment and support others in their learning. Maintain your own professional competence through on going professional development. Be accountable for your own professional practice and professional revalidation in accordance with The Code (NMC 2015).

You should be aware of your role with regard to the Medicines Code of Practice, complying with all Trust policies and risk assessments with particular regard to the policies and procedures maintaining staff and patient safety.

Communication with the multidisciplinary team is essential in order to promote efficient patient care and maintain effective channels of communication. You should report all accidents and untoward incidents to the nurse in charge and complete an incident form in accordance with Trust policy.
