Job summary
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a full time band 7 OT to join our Parkinson's team.
The team assesses, treats and supports Parkinson's patients from new diagnosis through to end of life. This may be on city campus or QMC campus. In the future there may be OT input required in community locations.
You will be responsible for the provision of providing high quality OT clinically to these patients . Having skills in mental health and neurology would be an advantage. A background knowledge of HCOP management is not essential but would certainly support your work in this team. A range of OT teams across NUH will support you so that you are not working in isolation, and we hope in the future that there will be further OT staff in the team.
You must have a passion for staff development, service development and a proven track record of providing high quality training and mentorship for a range of abilities, including face to face teaching, appraisals and clinical supervision.
You will be able to work using your own initiative, be a supportive team member and be comfortable making decisions within the scope of the role whilst demonstrating an understanding and inclusive manner with your team.

You will be working as part of a dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary team who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care.
You will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and essential rehabilitation in an OP setting to patients with Parkinson's disease. The MDT comprises physio, OT, nursing, SLT and support workers.
The post-holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team ( including community teams), actively engaging in and contributing to service improvement projects and developments within the specialty.
