Job summary
The post holder will work closely with the wider workforce education team as part of the Institute of Care Excellence. Supported by the Institute Practice Development Lead, they will lead a project focused on scoping current practices and support for Ward Administrators, to ensure consistent induction, training and development of Ward Administrators and Ward Reception staff, with the aim to support these roles in practice and further reduce the administration pressures on clinical teams.
They will review development and training for Ward Administrators , piloting initially within midwifery services, to encompass supporting the practice education administration and quality requirements of clinical wards and departments.
Supported by the Institute Practice Development Leads they will liaise with Ward Leaders and Practice Supervisors and Assessors, to ensure high quality experiences for students and learners. They will also act as a point of communication and liaison between the Ward Administrators and the education team.
They will work to identify outcomes and benefits of the Ward Administrator role, to value, develop and retain the role as essential to the ward team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in partnership with clinical staff, Practice Supervisors and Assessors, wards and other midwifery/nursing areas to provide support and guidance to Ward Administrators in clinical practice, ensuring all achieve the required standards for role and deliver high quality service at all times.
The post holder will work closely with Ward Leaders and clinical areas to ensure Ward Administrators are competent, safe, compassionate, well-trained, caring and put the patient first and foremost always. The post holder will provide information as required for written and verbal reports that may need to be provided.
The post holder will be an excellent communicator, establish positive working relationships quickly at all levels of the organisation and manage a busy workload, responding to conflicting priorities as required. The post holder will be able to problem solve and escalate concerns as required, acting as positive and well-represented role model at all times.
The post holder will have a key role in supporting the Institute of Care Excellence with ensuring high quality learner experiences .
The post holder will be based between all NUH sites and must be able to travel to education providers and to support corporate events if and when they occur
The post holder must be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the training programme.
