Job summary

Lead our Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing programme and develop our strategy for supporting our staff in the years to come. Work as part of, and manage a supportive multi-disciplinary team. Build on established and well recognised services whilst developing and leading exciting new initiatives to improve the wellbeing and safety of our Trust. Develop new business and commercial opportunities to ensure our Occupational Health Team has a diverse range of activities that utilise and develop their skills.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing Services in supporting the health and wellbeing of staff. The successful candidate will work alongside internal and external stakeholders including, Staff Physiotherapy, Infection Prevention and Control, Human Resource, Staff Side Representatives, Commercial customers, and System Partners to lead, monitor, develop, devise, deliver and evaluate a comprehensive programme of support for our diverse workforce and the customers we serve.

Main duties of the job

The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Lead will work with the Medical, Administrative and Staff Wellbeing Leads and the Deputy Director of People to provide professional leadership and management across the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services being responsible for the Occupational Health Nursing, Administrative Team and the Wellbeing Team.

The post holder will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management of the workforce, guaranteeing provision of high quality evidence based practice which will be delivered within a hospital, community and outreach setting. The post holder will be a strong leader, and look to modernise services and ensure the active involvement of service users and partners in the way Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing services are developed, delivered and evaluated.

The post holder will promote, maintain and improve the physical and psychological wellbeing of all employees of the Trust and other NHS and non-NHS staff for which the departments provide services. They will provide specialist Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing advice to the employer organisation in respect of the interpretation of legal requirements and government policy.

The post holder will act as the lead for Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing requirements for strategic working within the health community and across strategic partnerships.

The post holder will work flexibly across the Trusts sites.
