Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity based within both the chemotherapy production unit and the pharmacy clinical trials dispensary, in accordancewith service needs.
The chemotherapy production unit is responsible for preparing all the chemotherapy for our adult cancer patients and is an essential and vitalservice.
Pharmacy clinical trials is an area looking at new medicines or new combinations or uses of established medicines to optimise and improvepatients' health care outcomes.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within procedures and under the supervision of pharmacy technical staff. You will be expected to accurately dispense allmedicines (including aseptic dispensing), maintain accurate documentation, take part in stock control procedures and complete a variety of administrative duties.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and adaptable team player, with good written and verbal communication skills, and pay close attention to detailbecause this is essential for this role. You will be liaising closely with other members of the pharmacy clinical trials team and the chemotherapy production team and you will also be in contact with Trust and University of Nottingham research staff and representatives from pharmaceutical companies who sponsor clinical research conducted within the Trust.
This post is based at the City Campus. You may be needed to work occasionally at QMC to support the NUH Pharmacy Clinical Trials service.

The pharmacy clinical trials team is a small unit of friendly and approachable staff. Training and support is readily provided.
The chemotherapy production unit is a busy unit and you will need to be able to focus and work as part of a team to ensure timely delivery oftreatment, and so best possible experience for our cancer patients. This is rewarding of itself.

You must be in possession of NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or an equivalent Pharmacy Manufacturing qualification to work as Band 3. Ifworking towards this or need to undertake this qualification, successful applicant will be a Band 2 until qualification is gained.
If you have previous experience of clinical trials and/or aseptic production work that would be an advantage, but this is not essential, as we will provide full training and support.
You will also be expected to participate in the pharmacy weekend and bank holiday rota.
