Job summary
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to work 50/50 across two areas of NUH Pharmacy:
The Family Health Pharmacy Team, providing care to patients on our paediatric wards, neonatal intensive care units and maternity wards.
The Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit, based on our QMC campus.
This is a fixed term post, providing secondment cover for an existing member of the team, and provides a great opportunity to gain experience in a variety of specialties across women's and children's services , as well as in our manufacturing unit. No previous experiences in these areas is necessary; full training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Services Duties
To partake in clinical pharmacy duties ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken in the Family Health Division, including Paediatrics, Neonatology, Maternity and Gynaecology.
Leadership, management and Divisional/Specialty support roles.
To line manage and support more junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the Family Health Pharmacy Team.
To take full part in the 7 day shifted rota and bank holidays duties.
Clinical duties will be primarily undertaken at the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) Campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), but the post holder may periodically be required to work clinically at the City Hospital Campus according to service needs.
Technical Services Duties
To work as part of the production and quality teams to assist in the safe and effective preparation, assembly, manufacture, final check and release of medicinal products manufactured in the Pharmacy Production departments at NUH.
To assist in the provision, management and development of safe and efficient pharmacy production services at NUH.
To line manage and support more junior pharmacists in the Family Health Division
To take full part in the weekend rota and bank holidays duties.
To take part in senior pharmacist on-call duties

The Maternity service at NUH delivers over 10,000 babies a year, and there has been a recent significant expansion of the Pharmacy service provided to our Maternity wards.
The Pharmacy Production department has four manufacturing areas. The Sterile Production Unit (SPU), Non-Sterile Manufacturing Unit (NSM) and Pharmacy Packing Unit (PPU) are based in the MHRA licensed facility at the QMC Campus. The Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) is located at the City Hospital Campus. For technical services duties the post holder will be primarily based on the QMC campus but may also be required to work on the City Hospital campus depending upon service demands.
