ENT Clinical Nurse Practitioner Lead

Job summary

This is an exciting new full time secondment Band 7 post for 12 months within the ENT Outpatients and the ENT emergency pathway. The successful candidate will join a well-established enthusiastic, friendly multidisciplinary and multiprofessional team. There is a highly motivated group of band 6 nurses who have completed nurse -led packages to manage epistaxis, otitis externa, performing nasoendoscopy and tonsillitis. Some have also completed training to request scans and prescribe. This development in competencies has been overseen by mentorship from the ENT consultant body and ENT Outpatient team.

Main duties of the job

A significant part of this secondment is about building quality assurance to allow more clinical autonomy as well as to lead some of the training elements for the roles through nurse-led education programs in conjunction with Consultant colleagues. In addition to the clinical responsibilities, this post needs to define the key performance indicators that will objectively establish progression from band 6 to a Band 7 nurse.

  • NMC registered
  • Nursing /or health related Degree
  • Non-medical prescribing Qualification
