Nightingale Ward Manager

Job summary

Nightingale ward is a 13 bedded mixed Infectious Diseases ward, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, highly motivated Ward Manager to join the nursing team on a 12 month Secondment.

The post holder will be required to work over 365 days a year on a roster basis.

This vacancy would suit an experienced nurse, with a minimum of 2 years at band 6 level or above.

The Ward manager will have considerable autonomy and responsibility for service development and delivery of the service they will take full responsibility for the patients and the Nightingale staff.

They will be required to work flexibly as a member of the Nightingale team to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated and where necessary improved.

The Ward Manager will need to utilise their clinical expertise and specialist knowledge to deliver high quality evidence/research based care to the Nightingale patients.

The post holder is required to be registered with the NMC.

As Nightingales Ward Manager you will be responsible for:

Managing your workload & managing the teams workload

Developing the current Nightingale Team and developing it further

Managing budgets and staffing establishments

Leading on governance & Datix themes

Ensuring all staff complete mandatory training and medical device competencies are maintained at a high level

Review and develop patient feedback to improve the service

Complete regular service evaluations

Attend Nightingale general meetings regularly

Following and upholding NUH trust policies and procedures, including Values and Behaviours
