NEW OPPORTUNITIES to shape MSK Occupational Therapies at NUH!!!

We are seeking to appoint two innovative, experienced and dynamic Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists for Musculoskeletal services across Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital campuses within Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust.

Post 1: Trauma and elective outpatients, burns and plastics - supporting outpatient splinting and bracing

Post 2: Trauma and elective inpatients, spinal inpatients and Major Trauma - supporting inpatient splinting and bracing

This exciting role requires committed and dedicated occupational therapists to lead the strategic development of Occupational Therapy within MSK Trauma, Burns and Plastics and Elective services in conjunction with the existing therapy Clinical Lead and Therapy Service Manager. The post holder will work in close partnership with the multidisciplinary leadership team within the wider MSK specialties.

Weekend working is an expectation of the post holder, area and campus to be defined once in post.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will be registered Occupational Therapists. They will be a strong clinical leader who demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise and who is highly visible and accessible to Therapy staff throughout the MSK service. They will drive and lead service improvements and support the wider team with teaching and training. They will work closely with the Therapy Services Manager, Clinical Lead and also with the MSK Specialty Management Team to ensure services are developed in line with the Trust vision.

Desirable

  • Experience of involvement in profession at a regional or national level eg RCOT or national guideline committee.

Training & Qualifications

  • BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
  • Recognised post-graduate training relevant to specialty preferably including research skills to a Master's level.
  • Evidence of maintaining professional competence through CPD.
  • Knowledge of National, Trust and Departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

Desirable

  • Member of relevant specialist interest group
