Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Service Manager within the vascular surgery team.

We are looking for a confident and proactive individual who is able to support and manage the administrative team and support operational strategy. They need to be able to work to tight deadlines, use their initiative and bring new ideas to improve the service to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to manage a team and build strong durable working relationships.

Working as part of the wider specialty leadership team the key requirement of the job will be to support the Service Manager, Specialty General Manager, Matron and Head of Service, monitor and ensure key performance targets, provide a patient focused administration service for outpatients, daycase and elective inpatients and provide line management to the administrative staff.

The post holder is also expected to assist and lead in the formulation and implementation of Service policies, projects and strategies through the efficient use of resources. The post holder will evaluate and develop processes and systems to ensure a caring, quality service is provided for patients and support the achievement of local and national patient access and activity targets.

About us

The Vascular surgery Service at Nottingham University Hospitals provides an extremely busy service to the population of East Midlands Region and beyond.

The department provides daycase, elective, emergency and outpatient services . The team are a friendly team, based at QMC Campus. There are 8 consultant vascular surgeons supported by junior doctors, clinical nurse specialists and 8 administrative staff.
