Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department for a Nursing Support Administrator to join our team to support our senior nursing team in the ENT outpatient department. The post is an essential part of reducing the administrative burden on our team leaders and enabling them to spend more time with staff and patients, delivering excellent patient care.

Job responsibilities

Typing of action plans. To manage and update the electronic diaries of the senior management team and to make appointments, arrange meetings and venues and inform all interested parties and attendees. To liaise with the Charge Nurse in the completion of unsocial hours payments and comply monthly figures for staff sickness, study etc.

To assist the Charge Nurse in ensuring electronic rosters are performed to the specified timeline, To support in effective collection and inputting of data of the unit's productivity data.

Assist the Matron and senior management in the day to day administration of staffing matters, organising annual appraisals and assisting the training team in the recruitment and selection of new staff.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • RSA III word processing or equivalent experience
  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent, C or above, must include English
  • Computer literate to ECDL standard or equivalent

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Experience

  • Proven typing and admin experience
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient/client confidentiality

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS

Communication and relationship skills

  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally gathered from both verbal and documented reports
  • Maintain confidentiality in communication with patients/colleagues
