Job summary

The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing care for patients with urology cancers, maintaining and developing a quality service, including quality surveillance standards.

You will take overall responsibility for the care of a caseload of patients requiring specialist nursing care, facilitating multi-disciplinary working across healthcare sectors, including electronic Holistic Needs Assessment and actively support personalised care and support planning for all patients.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Urology Nurse to join our dynamic team of Urology Nurse Specialists.

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Urology Speciality here at NUH, we provide a Urology pathway to the whole of Nottinghamshire and work closely with our community and health partners including Sherwood Forest NHS Foundation Trust. Recently NUH was awarded the contract for the Nottingham Treatment Centre, based at our QMC campus and we are further developing our Urology service and require a motivated and experienced Nurse practitioner.

About us

The successful candidate will join an established multi-disciplinary team of urologists, uro- gynaecologists, Urology oncology specialist nurses and Urology nurse practitioners.

The Urology Department at City Campus, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is accommodated in the Urology Centre which consists of a dedicated Outpatients Department with facilities to undertake flexible cystoscopies and biopsies, a lithotripter suite, three urology operating theatres and office accommodation.

Most of the elective Urology surgery is based and performed at Nottingham City hospital. Harvey2 ward provides the male and female elective surgical beds. Patience 2 ward is a 27 bedded inpatient ward for Urology emergency admissions. Our service covers the full range of emergency and elective Urology work.

Services are also provided at the Nottingham Treatment Centre, located on the QMC campus.
