Job summary

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are driven by high standards of care through exceptional performance.

We are a specialist regional unit with patients who have both neurosurgical and neurology conditions and we strive to meet the needs of a large intake of patients.

You would be involved in supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge acquiring and developing specialised skills on the way to becoming a confident, dynamic individual.

We work with our specialist neighbouring neuro wards to develop a team that is happy, competent and passionate.

Main duties of the job

D11 is a male, 28 bedded ward that provides specialist care for both neurosurgical and neurology patients. We care for a specialist type of patient with various and complex neurosurgical and neurology needs and you will work alongside a specialist multi disciplinary team to ensure that the needs of these patients are met. We work closely alongside our neighbouring Neuro wards to deliver an effective pathway for both the elective and emergency patient.

We offer specialist training in all aspects of caring for a patient with neurosurgery/neurology needs and you will have the opportunity to gain experience in Tracheostomy care, care of the patient with the complex head injuries as well as those stepped down from level 3 care.

We are one of the busiest regional neurosurgical departments in the Country and receive referrals from within Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and parts of Lincolnshire.
