Main duties of the job
The Divisional Portfolio Manager will provide a specialist role, managing the research portfolio across the Division to realise R&I, Trust, and National objectives, proactively finding solutions to barriers as they arise in accordance with appropriate guidance throughout.
The successful candidate will act as a central point of contact within the Division for researchers and R&I colleagues, and will be expected to provide expert support or appropriate sign posting to researchers from conception to completion of study. The post-holder will be responsible for engaging with internal and external parties to ensure that research projects are initiated and delivered in a timely manner.

We are seeking a Divisional Portfolio Manager to guide and develop our research portfolio across Surgery Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the progression of a divisional research portfolio supporting and facilitating all aspects of research activity. Central to our research is Nottinghams expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
Supporting all of our research is the NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility which provides the infrastructure, skills and knowledge essential to the delivery of high quality experimental medicine research for adults and children. Our expertise and resources are at the forefront of COVID-19 research into effective treatments and vaccines, as well as contributing to the worlds understanding of Coronavirus.
