Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Institute of Care Excellence Team as a Practice Educator- International Pastoral Team.

The international pastoral team will be leading the support of international nurses arriving at the Trust each month, ensuring all nurses arrive safely, receive a warm welcome and have access to ongoing pastoral care during the start of their careers at Nottingham University Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

You will work as a practice educator within the international pastoral team. You will also work alongside the practice education team and multi-professional colleagues across the Trust and be committed to delivering excellence in staff experience to all new starters. You will need to be a highly motivated, skilled clinical practitioner, a professional role model and communicator, with evidence of an experience of supporting learners in the clinical setting. Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the pastoral support for international nurses joining the Trust
  • Working clinically primarily with international nurses
  • Delivering clinical and educational programmes in both classroom and clinical settings
  • Developing and supporting preceptors, supervisors and assessors to adhere to the Trust and national guidelines giving appropriate guidance where required.
  • Working in collaboration with clinical nurse educators and senior nursing teams to ensure a supportive onboarding and learning environment.
