An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our fantastic team of volunteers in the Voluntary Services Coffee Shop at Barnsley Hopsital, located on the ground floor of the main outpatient department.
The Coffee Shop is well-known amongst staff and our service users for the good-humoured and friendly service our fantastic volunteers provide. Therefore this role is ideal for volunteers who demonstrate a friendly personality and a positive attitude.
The role allows potential volunteers to meet new people and enhance many skills including communication, team-working and overall customer care.
Requirements of the role:
Have excellent customer service skills
Have excellent communication skills
Be organised and reliable
Ability to work in a fast-paced-environment
Willingness to undertake training relating to the role e.g. Food Hygiene
Ability to adhere to policies such as Infection Prevention and Control
The role sits under the remit of the Patient Experience and Voluntary Services team, with the Voluntary Services Co-ordinator providing support and acting as a point of contact for Coffee Shop Volunteers.Current Availability: 11.00am-2.00pm Monday and Friday, 12.00pm-4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
Serving beverages, pre-packed sandwiches, toasted teacakes / bread and cakes.
Ensure all displays are stocked.
Checking sell by dates on all items.
Checking and noting temperatures of goods in the display cabinet.
Clearing trays and crockery from the tables.
Ensuring the serving area and chillier cabinet is kept clean and tidy.
Loading dirty crockery into the dishwasher.
Taking clean crockery out of the dishwasher (being aware of the heat).
Wiping surfaces down, putting things away.
Cleaning the Coffee machine at the end of each day.
