The reduction of hospital acquired decondition is one of the key Trust priorities at BHNFT. We are now looking to recruit a Deconditioning Practice Educator to support the nursing and allied health professional workforce across both our medical and surgical CBUs who share our enthusiasm and dedication for promoting leadership and education within clinical teams.
This role will work within clinical areas to support nursing staff, clinical staff and Allied Health Professionals to develop both clinical skills and knowledge about hospital acquired deconditioning through practical training sessions, in the moment teaching, working alongside and offering pastoral support. The post holder will work alongside teams to develop and embed ward based initiatives to reduce hospital acquired deconditioning.
Main duties of the job
The Practice Educator role is designed to influence the quality of the clinical care and the environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for registered and unregistered healthcare staff, allied health professionals and students on pre-registration training programs.
The role aims to enhance the quality of practice and positively contribute to the current and future healthcare professional workforce through providing department specific education and training, and expanding the knowledge base of nursing staff within the department, with a key focus on the reduction of deconditioning of patients whilst in hospital. The post holder will work in close co-operation with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team, and senior nursing teams.
