Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Acute Federation (SYBAF) as the Acute Paediatrics Senior Programme Manager. The SYBAF is a provider collaborative which brings together five hospital trusts to work at scale to benefit the population of South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.

South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Acute Federation has been selected to be one of nine national provider collaborative innovators. The programme will accelerate the design and implementation of the South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw collaborative model for acute paediatric services. The programme aims to develop a South Yorkshire integrated acute paediatric service to:

create equity for children and young people in South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw

provide joined up services and their families

meet the needs of children evidenced by outcome measures

create a more resilient and sustainable workforce and

reduce the impact of ill-health on childrens learning and future outcomes.

The Acute Paediatric Innovator Programme Manager will lead the planning and implementation of the SYBAF Acute Paediatric Innovator Programme working as part of the Acute Federation team. This will include helping to develop a model that enables a collaborative and partnership approach across the integrated care system and engagement with key stakeholders such as primary care, mental health and education

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will bring experience of managing transformation progarmmes and projects in a healthcare setting. They will be passionate about providing high quality care and addressing health inequalities for children and young people.

The post holder willWork with clinical and operational colleagues to identify benefits and develop and track implementation plans and progress,Establish and run effective programme management systems for delivering the programme deliverables and benefits to time, budget and quality standards, Analyse and interpret hospital performance and quality data, policies and guidelines,Represent SYB and the AF at senior meetings as required,Ensure the acute paediatric programme ambitions are underpinned by the delivery of short, medium- and long-term planning activities with associated delivery objectives managed through a dynamic work programme,Identity and manage risks to delivery and help to set up and support the programme board,Engage with internal, local, regional and national stakeholders on the delivery of the programme and be adept at convening colleagues from multiple organisations and enabling effective multi-disciplinary and cross-system working andWork with communications and engagement leads across the SYBAF to develop and promote internal and external communications around the programme.

  • Substantial experience of working in, or with the NHS, facilitating change to improve care or health outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience of leading and project managing projects / programmes in complex and challenging environments.
