The Workforce Development and Student Support Team provide a range of learning opportunities for all staff at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The department promotes the concepts of lifelong and inter-professional learning for all staff.

We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated person to support Health Care Support Workers with Care Certificate training and completion, provide pastoral support to new to care clinical staff and promote the HCSW and HCA role as a career pathway for people within the local area.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Workforce Development and Student Support Team, to enhance the pastoral support given to Healthcare Support Workers, with a focus on retention, resilience building and person-centred care. The post holder will be a key member of the Workforce Development and Student Support Team, working along all aspects of the care pathway with relevant nursing colleagues to enhance HCSW knowledge, skills and expertise.

The post holder will have had experience of the Healthcare support worker role, be self-motivated and have the enthusiasm and commitment to form effective and mutually supportive work partnerships. This will start at the recruitment process, through the care certificate and into clinical practice.

The post holder will be an inspirational role model, reflecting the Trust core values and work in close co-operation with all members of the Multi-disciplinary team.
