Job summary
Ward 35 is a dynamic, fast-paced ward, specialising in emergency and elective General Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat), and Urology care. We are committed to delivering high-quality patient-centred care and supporting the development of our staff. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the care and recovery of patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Band 2 Care support worker to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work alongside nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide essential support in the care of patients. You will assist in delivering a high standard of care to ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a healthcare setting, ideally within a surgical or similar environment, but not essential. You should have a basic understanding of surgical procedures and patient care needs, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work well under pressure as part of a team in a busy ward environment is crucial, as is a compassionate, caring, and empathetic attitude towards patient care.

Main duties of the job
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including washing, dressing, and mobility.
Support patients pre- and post-surgery, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Promote a safe environment and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the ward.
