An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Imaging inpatient/outpatient booking team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust. The role involves appointing patients for diagnostic imaging within a constantly developing and expanding department, appointing patients across two sites, Barnsley Hospital Trust and Barnsley Community Diagnostic Centre.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, empathy and be able to stay calm under pressure.

Previous NHS experience or a healthcare background is essential.

You will be expected to work some weekends and bank holidays in addition to working hours between 9am and 5pm during the week, a flexible approach is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team booking inpatient, outpatient and GP patient examinations, prioritising bookings in accordance with local and national targets.

You will need to have a good understanding of imaging modalities, knowledge of the different types of imaging examinations performed at Barnsley and the preparation of patients for these examinations.

Familiarity with electronic systems used in imaging is essential.

You will continuously monitor requests at all stages of the booking process, seeking and updating patient information as required and escalating delays to the senior management team
