The Digital Communications Assistant is a key member of the Corporate Communications Team, managing inbound requests for content changes on our intranet, external websites, and other digital publishing platforms. The Corporate Communications team manages the reputation of the Trust through handling press and media enquiries, producing stories about the work of the Trust, supporting teams with knowledge and experience, and generally supporting teams to communicate with the people they need reach.

Working closely with the Communications and Digital Manager, the Digital Communications Assistant will manage a schedule of social media publishing, and will monitor comments and messages so the team is able to respond appropriately and in a timely manner. Working with colleagues throughout the Trust, they will also use content management systems to update and create content regarding the services of the Trust.

The role suits an organised and empathetic individual who is comfortable using digital systems, and is able to quickly become comfortable and competent using new systems.

Main duties of the job

A successful candidate will be quick to learn, and will be able to use their initiative to solve simple problems. You will support the other members of the Corporate Communication team to collate reports about user activities on our digital channels, and will schedule content on our website, intranet, and social media platforms.

You will need to work within Trust policies to interact with patients and members of the public using digital channels such as Facebook Messenger and other social messaging tools.

You will need to administer accounts for colleagues on various digital platforms. You will also need to support them with ad-hoc training needs so they are able to achieve their aims using the systems we administer.

The Corporate Communication team supports the Trust to represent itself publicly, so work is often varied and can be challenging at times. We like to work collaboratively and work with many stakeholders both inside and outside the Trust.

You will have a keen eye for detail and will be able to apply creative and critical thinking to task which you are set. Being able to write in plain English is a must.

Full training of in-house systems will be provided to any successful candidate.
