An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated staff nurse to join our excellent team on the chemotherapy unit. If successful you will join our nursing and medical staff in providing high quality care to patients with haematology and oncology conditions.

The chemotherapy unit is a 6 chaired unit delivering chemotherapy and other treatments. This is an exciting time for the chemotherapy unit in Barnsley as we are treating more patients locally, and our service is developing to meet the needs of our cancer patients in Barnsley.

The chemotherapy unit is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Main duties of the job

This role will include;

  • Administration of systemic anticancer therapy
  • Managing patient flow through the unit
  • Administration of blood products
  • Preparing and running subcutaneous injection clinics
  • Providing a high standard of care to our cancer patients in Barnsley
  • Liaising with specialist teams to ensure treatments are prepared

All relevant training will be provided to the successful candidate
