This is a exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded, established team. Dedicated to providing cutting edge diagnostic services to the people of Barnsley and the surrounding area. We are looking for a motivated professional to intergrade into our capsule team, helping us us to maintain our excellent reputation in Gastroenterology care. Your work be split across two sites ensuring a varied work load and ability to impact a wider patient demographic.

Main duties of the job

The suitable candidate will be at the forefront of patient diagnostics, this is a diverse role with key responsibilities including:

Nurse led clinics this includes working autonomously in managing and delivering clinics, specifically focusing on Iron Deficiency anaemia and capsule endoscopy.

Collaborative practice to work seamlessly along side our MDT, including consultant gastroenterology, specialist nurses, and administrate support, to ensure holistic patient pathways.

Research and innovation - You will actively participate in ongoing clinical research trials and service development projects. To keep our department at the cutting edge of medical science.

Professional growth is important and there is a emphasise on research and MDT collaboration, you will have ampule opportunities to expand your professional portfolio.

Patient preparation- you will be assessing patient suitability for endoscopic procedures through pre assessment and Iron deficiency anaemia clinics

Technical Management - You will be setting up the capsule data equipment ensuring the capsule equipment is set up correctly and trouble shooting any connectivity issues

Mastering capsule endoscopy- you will be given the opportunity to attend relevant courses to train in pre- reading small bowel capsule endoscopy to manage the patient's capsule journey, recognising abnormal pathology and managing accordingly.
