Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic paediatric nurse to lead training for schools, nurseries and care providers across Barnsley. You will deliver high quality education to carers, families and professionals, supporting safe and effective care across the community.

The role also includes contributing to health education, health promotion and supporting the wider Children's Community Nursing team. This is a Monday to Friday post working core hours

Main duties of the job

The postholder will deliver high quality training to patients, carers and support services involved in the care of children known to the Children's Community Nursing Service. This will include training in gastrostomy care and feeding, tracheostomy care, suction, medication administration and any other relevant nursing needs.

They will also support the development and delivery of broader training packages designed to promote consistent, high quality care for children across community and educational settings. Working alongside the Lead Nurse, the postholder will help to establish clear, age appropriate objectives tailored to the needs of each child and family. In addition, they will contribute to benchmarking training to ensure a consistent, effective and evidence based approach is maintained.
