Hospital is currently investing in providing 24/7 cover of Paediatric Advanced
Clinical Practitioners (ACP) to work in the Childrens Emergency Department and
support across Childrens Services when required. If you are a qualified paediatric ACP
practitioner who wants to work at a Trust that is dynamic and forward thinking,

There are a
number of posts and variety of hours available.
You will join an embedded team of 2 qualified paediatric ACPs and 1
trainee paediatric ACP who currently work in the childrens Emergency
Department supporting the ED medical team to review, treat and discharge
children in a timely manner. They also
support across Childrens Services when required.
Main duties of the job
Will practice
advanced nursing within the Framework for Advanced Practice. Core service delivery is covered by four
pillars of practice, Clinical Practice, Management and Leadership, Education
and Research.
Will provide
expert identification, assessment, treatment and management of the acutely ill
child, using complex communication skill, judgement, discretion and decision
making.
To be an
advanced, autonomous Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner (PACP) working
within their sphere of competence, providing highly specialist assessment and
intervention which contributes to the diagnosis and management of acutely ill
patients in paediatric in-patient areas in the Trust.
Will monitor and
improve standards of care through the use of evidence-based practice,
supervision, teaching and supporting colleagues, provision of skilled
professional leadership and be a role model.
To support
junior medical staff, sharing clinical workload and allow junior doctors to
achieve training and development requirements.
Will participate
in clinical governance within the service by undertaking and participating in
audit and research as part of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) within the
specialist field as part of training programme.
To provide leadership to nursing staff and junior doctors with regards to
training and development ensuring delivery of consistent high quality of care.
