We are looking
forward to welcoming an experienced, driven and enthusiastic registered Speech
and Language Therapist to join our innovative team.
The successful post holder will have well developed
specialist skills in voice disorders, dysphagia and head and neck cancer.
You will work closely with the head and neck
multi-disciplinary team and wider specialist services, ensuring patients
receive high quality, person-centred and effective care.
The
post holder will join a proactive and dynamic team and provide supervision and
day to day operational team leadership.
The
option for flexible working is available and can be discussed at interview.
The postholder will
also provide assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with dysphagia on
the acute inpatient wards at times when needed. This is in the form of
providing cover when staffing levels dictate this is required, and support to
maintain competencies in this area would be provided.

Working hours a week: 22.5 hours
Main duties of the job
Provide a highly specialist service to Barnsley Hospital
for adults and children with voice difficulties, and adults with dysphagia from
an ENT origin and patients with Head and Neck cancer, all the way through their
Head and Neck Cancer journey as appropriate (including patients receiving
surgical, chemo/radiotherapy and palliative treatment).
Develop, provide and participate in the training and
support of other professionals working with this client group.
Provide assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with
dysphagia on the acute inpatient wards at times when needed. This is in the
form of providing cover when staffing levels dictate this is required.
Ensure
compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate
colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity, and drive continuous
improvement.
