We are offering an exciting opportunity for a
highly motivated and experienced breast imaging radiographer to join our team
as a Trainee Consultant Radiographer.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about advancing clinical practice,
leading service improvement, and shaping the future of breast imaging.
You will work across both screening and
symptomatic services, delivering expert clinical care and contributing to the
leadership, education, and development of the wider team. The role will be
split between clinical and non-clinical duties to support your growth in all
four pillars of consultant practice: clinical, leadership, education, and
research.
You should have significant experience in
breast imaging, with excellent communication, organisational and leadership
skills. A commitment to ongoing learning and innovation is essential.
Postgraduate qualifications in breast ultrasound, reporting or interventional
procedures are desirable.

Main duties of the job
As
Trainee Consultant Radiographer Breast Radiology, you will provide advanced
clinical care across breast imaging services, including mammography,
ultrasound, image interpretation, and interventional procedures. You will use advanced
clinical judgement to support diagnosis and treatment, while contributing to
multidisciplinary team discussions.
You
will lead and support radiographic staff, contribute to training and
development, and help shape service improvements through guideline development,
policy writing, and quality assurance. You will take responsibility for service
efficiency, resource use, and patient safety, while maintaining a strong focus
on patient experience, dignity, and confidentiality.
Youll
also be actively involved in education, research and audit, helping to influence
national practice and support the development of the radiography profession.
This role is designed to develop the full range of skills required for
progression to Consultant Radiographer.
