This post is a fixed term/internal secondment opportunity until 8th August 2026
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join our Theatre Scheduling Team at Barnsley Hospital.
The postholder will support the supervisor and Service Management teams to manage the theatre schedule on Bluespier to ensure a ccurate reflection of theatre session allocation.
The Scheduling Officer will be an individual that communicates clearly, is willing to learn at pace and adapt the demands as required by the role and department.
We are a dynamic team that work together, consistent and focus on ongoing improvement to ensure we provide a quality service to the specialties utilising Barnsley Hospital theatres in a timely manner. This is a great opportunity for development.
This role is also a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ level 2/3. Apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.
Main duties of the job
Ensuring all theatre lists are scheduled as per Trust policy
Ensuring 6-4-3-2 process is followed
Personal qualities:
Strong evidence of team working across professional boundaries
Ability to work under pressure and respond to short timescales on time and with accuracy
Ability to adapt and willingness to learn new ways of working
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Proficient computer skills working with Theatre System and Microsoft Office application
Active team member who is able to communicate clearly
Have a positive can do attitude
