The Acorn Unit is
a 30 bedded Intermediate Care Unit, currently based in Community at Highstone
Mews Care Home. A review of Barnsley Intermediate Care services is ongoing and we are now at a stage to recruit a band 7 Therapy Lead to work alongside the
unit's Lead Nurse.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide effective leadership,
expertise, advice & support to the unit to ensure the provision of the
highest quality care to patients and their families.
Together with the Lead Nurse the post holder will ensure
the safe, effective and efficient management of the unit within allocated
resources and in accordance with Trust wide Policies and Procedures.
The post holder will act as ward/department manager with
responsibility for determining how objectives set for the service delivery of
the unit will best be achieved.
The post holder will work in close liaison with the
Operational Manager, Lead Nurse, Matron, BHNFT Therapy Services Managers,
Community Therapy and Intermediate Care colleagues to provide the highest
standards of rehabilitation and Intermediate Care.
