Job summary

We welcome enthusiastic and highly motivated optometrists with an interest in paediatrics to apply for the opportunity to be part of the Orthoptic department at Barnsley Hospital. The post would commence as soon as possible.

This essential role will involve refraction, and fundus & media checks on a predominantly paediatric caseload. You will work closely with the Orthoptists and paediatric ophthalmologists.

The post is required to cover clinics ideally on a Monday and Thursday but the days could be negotiable.

Main duties of the job

This essential role will involve refraction, and fundus & media checks on a predominantly paediatric caseload. You will work closely with the Orthoptists and paediatric ophthalmologists.

We are currently based at Barnsley Hospital Site but relocationg to HOTH, Alhambra in Barnsley town centre late 2025.
