Job summary

This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that the salary will remain as an apprenticeship salary as this position is fixed term.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our SEQOHS accredited service based at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The individual will work with the clinical and administrative team to support the delivery of a quality, high standard service to our internal and external customers.

The post holder will undertake day to day administrative tasks including the management of the Occupational Health email inbox, appointment making and liaising with staff and the wider Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be the first point of contact of the department by undertaking reception duties and dealing with enquires either in person or by telephone. You will direct enquiries according to urgency or arrange and re-schedule appointment with the appropriate practitioner.

The postholder will maintain the appointments system electronically using OHS database (Cohort) andprovide advice according to Trust and service protocols.

You will liaise with the Appointing Officers in the Trusts recruitment processes andprepare employees personal occupational health records on Cohort (Medgate) and input demographic details on the database; as well asinputting data relating to immunisations and laboratory results into OHS database, Cohort (Medgate).

The role involves producing certification of immunisation and health screening for employees past and present, via OHS database andmaking appointments in accordance with immunisation policies.

You will be required to input details of clients who are terminating employment into database andmaintain storage of Occupational Health records in accordance with legal requirements.

You will be required to maintain confidentiality and discretion showing sensitivity to the needs of others and carry out other duties (as may be requested) from time to time, which are consistent with the grade. You could also be asked to supervise and train new employees on office and computer procedures.
