Job summary

develop their career in a busy District General Hospital.
You will be joining our friendly, flexible
team to provide a high quality, responsive diagnostic service delivering
excellent patient care in line with the Trust core values. You will be expected
to maintain high clinical standards and share this practice with other staff
and students.
You must have excellent communication and organisational
skills, a commitment to CPD and a practical knowledge of radiation protection,
legislation and health and safety requirements. A flexible approach to working
will be required. Above all, patients must be at the forefront of your
practice.
You will possess DCR (R) or BSc Radiography
with current HCPC registration and have previous NHS experience. Students
qualifying in 2024 are welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
The post will provide the opportunity to
develop your clinical skills in adult and paediatric plain film, emergency and
trauma radiography, theatre, CT, cardiac angiography, fluoroscopy, dental
radiography and DEXA scanning.
We have just opened a Clinical Diagnostic
Centre in the glassworks Barnsley town centre, which incorporates Outpatient
Imaging services such as Plain Film X-ray and DEXA amongst other services. This
is an exciting opportunity and staff will rotate between the main site and
Clinical Diagnostic Centre.
We actively encourage post graduate study and
role extension. We currently have 8 radiographers who undertake Advanced
Practice and this will continue to develop.
We operate a 7-day service covered by a shift
system, which includes night cover. Our shift patterns accommodate flexible
working arrangements.
