Job summary

The post holder will support, provide and contribute to a comprehensive and high quality service to the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director and Appraisal Lead (DMD) and Medical Staffing Manager relating to Consultant, Senior Medical Staff and all other doctors not in training for Appraisal and GMC Revalidation. They will have a professional approach and be the first point of contact for enquiries relating to Appraisal and Revalidation.

The post holder will support, provide and contribute to a comprehensive and high-quality Job Planning administration service to the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director and Job Planning Lead (DMD) and Medical Staffing Manager for Consultant and SAS doctors.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage and lead the Revalidation, Appraisal and Job Planning Processes for all medical staff within the organisation.

The post holder will work as part of the Medical Staffing Department and as such will be required to carry out a range of support tasks to ensure the effective functioning of the department.

The post holder will act with autonomy in ensuring established standardized systems, processes and procedures are adhered to on a Trust-wide basis.

The post holder will liaise with external agencies and internal customers to deliver high quality, customer focused service supporting the Clinical Business Units in achieving their business objectives through the fair and effective management of medical and dental staff.

The post holder will support the Medical Staffing Manager in monitoring compliance with national standard, developing policy and strategy related to Medical Staffing and will lead on appraisal, revalidation and job planning processes.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management or equivalent management experience.
