Are you a dynamic individual who is looking to progress into a Project Management career? An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Portfolio Management Office at Barnsley Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Support Officer to join our team who currently work a hybrid approach to agile working.
PMO has an extensive agenda supporting the Strategic Programme of work and associated Trust Objectives, Efficiency and Productivity Programme, Service Improvement, Business Planning and Investment Portfolio. This post provides a project support function to assist with the development of our core PMO priorities along with providing project support to the project management team with programmes and projects in line with the Trust strategic direction.
PMO work closely with our Clinical Business Unit and Corporate Teams to support delivery of the Trust Strategy and associated change programmes to deliver our mission to provide the best possible care for the people of Barnsley and beyond at all stages of their life. The role is extremely diverse and offers the right candidate the opportunity to be involved in shaping the Hospitals long-term future.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
Provide project support to the Deployment Project Manager/CIP Facilitator.
Using own initiative to problem solve issues on behalf of Project Managers, taking appropriate action to ensure urgent issues are dealt with efficiently.
Assist with and support service improvement initiatives.
Build effective relationships with Clinical Business units and Trust Wide teams to support all projects.
Contribute to the development of new ways of working, adapting to and supporting any changes that are implemented to the departmental efficiency.
Administer a number of complex meetings as required: scheduling and coordinating the meetings and events, taking notes and minutes, preparing the meeting agenda and associated papers and be responsible for progressing and chasing of actions.
Communicate information clearly and effectively within the team and other key stakeholders using a range of influencing and negotiating skills, receiving, handling and forwarding as necessary incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Provide and coordinate a comprehensive support service to projects, including general administration, project scheduling and basic facilitation.
Set up and manage the maintenance of project and departmental files.
Collect statistical, project status and other information on ad-hoc and regular basis and prepare reports for circulation within the team and the wider organisation.
