1801 - Therapy Assistant Inpatient and Outpatient Rotations

This is a part time 33 hour role fixed term until 30th September 2027.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and flexible person to join our physiotherapy team as a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant. Assistant or healthcare experience would be ideal although not essential. The opportunity will allow staff to work across mainly inpatient ward areas, however on occasions may be required to reach out into the community and gym class cover.

The physiotherapy team is proactive in providing a holistic service, working within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive high quality intervention, achieve their rehabilitation goals and are safely discharged in a timely manner.

Good communication and time management are required to work within a busy inpatient environment across a variety of settings. Training and a competency package are included in the role.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for implementing therapy programs delegated by the Physiotherapist to aid the rehabilitation of patient.

You will carry your own caseload supervised or unsupervised and treat patients according to set protocols monitoring patients progress and reporting back any changes to the appropriate Therapist.

You will be responsible for clinically relevant administrative duties in BHNFT or the community to ensure smooth service delivery.

You will experience a comprehensive induction process and have access to learning opportunities and development.

The successful applicant will have excellent team working skills and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients, as well as being able to work alone.

Flexibility of working times and practice is essential which will include 7 day working, weekend working.
