Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking and caring individual to join our current team of Medical Imaging Care Assistants (MICAs) within the Medical Imaging Department.
You will be involved in a range of duties assisting in all clinical areas including hands on patient care, portering and clerical responsibilities.
With effective communication, interpersonal, decision making and prioritising skills, you will be a sympathetic individual with a genuine desire to care for patients. Previous experience working within a care environment would be beneficial.
Imaging services are provided 7 days per week so a flexible approach to shift patterns is essential to support our services during the week and through the weekends.
Hours of work will be within the departments core hours of 8am to 8pm (typical shifts are 8am to 6pm & 10am to 8pm). Weekends are included but there is no requirement for night duties in this role.
We also have a Clinical Diagnostic Centre in the Glassworks Barnsley town centre, which will incorporate Outpatient Imaging Services such as CT, MRI, Plain Film X-ray and DEXA amongst other services. This is an exciting opportunity and staff will rotate between the main site and Clinical Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job
As a MICA you will assist in all clinical areas within the imaging department to help provide a caring and compassionate experience for the patients.
You will possess a good sound knowledge of health and safety, confidentiality and risk awareness.
It is essential that you have a good general level of education to GCSE standard and be prepared to undertake further appropriate training.
