We are seeking a 24 hour part time Band 5 nurse to work in our busy childrens outpatients department based at Barnsley Hospital.

Childrens services had gone through a transformational change over the past 3 years, this includes childrens outpatients and its recovery from Covid 19.

Our Childrens outpatients department has a highly regarded childrens phlebotomy service.

The ideal candidate would have or be willing to undertake phlebotomy in children and be someone who likes a fast-paced working environment.

Main duties of the job

To provide effective clinical and holistic individualised family centred care to the patients and families during their out-patient appointment, ensuring delivery is to the highest standard.

Maintaining evidenced based practice is performed at all times, being responsible for updating own knowledge and skills in line with the Trust polices, multidisciplinary team and the NMC Code.

Developing leadership skills, actively participating in service development.

Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management for children and young people.

Participate in the supervision and teaching of new members of staff including nursing students and paramedics.
