Job summary
An exciting development opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced radiographer who is keen to progress their career within cross-sectional imaging at BHNFT.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a good foundation of CT knowledge, skills and clinical experienceacross a broad range of examinations and scanning techniques. This post is will enable you to consolidate core CT radiographer skillsand further develop CT practice in more complex procedures, including cardiac CTCA, virtual CTC and biopsies.
Applicants must demonstrate a thorough understanding of cross-sectional imaging principles and safe scanning practice, including radiation protection, relevant legislation and health and safety. There will be the opportunity in the future to undertake MRI trainingand progress towards becoming a fully competent cross-sectional radiographer.
You will join a friendly and supportive team committed to delivering excellent patient care and maintaining a high-quality, responsive diagnostic service aligned with the Trusts core values. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a commitment to CPD and a flexible approach to working. Patient-centred care must underpin all aspects of practice.
Applicants must hold a DCR or BSc in Radiography, have current HCPC registration.
Main duties of the job

Perform a wide range of MRI examinations safely and accurately, ensuring high-quality imaging to support diagnosis.
Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, prioritising their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
Operate MRI equipment efficiently, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Conduct clinical CT scans as required, applying appropriate protocols to deliver clear and diagnostic-quality images.
Operate CT equipment efficiently, adhering to all radiation safety and quality standards.
Review clinical information to tailor scanning protocols to individual patient needs.
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to deliver excellent patient care and diagnostic support.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with departmental and Trust requirements.
Support ongoing professional development and keep up to date with advances in MRI technology and techniques.
Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff and students as required.
