We are inviting applications from enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced cross-sectional radiographers who are eager to develop their careers within a busy District General Hospital setting.
The role will primarily be based in MRI, and the successful candidate must be fully trained in MRI with proven clinical skills across a wide range of examinations and scan techniques. A strong knowledge of MRI principles and practices is essential. Previous experience in CT imaging would be beneficial, reflecting the cross-sectional nature of the role and offering the opportunity to practice in both modalities.
You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to CPD and a practical knowledge of radiation protection, legislation and health and safety requirements. A flexible approach to working will be required. Above all, patients must be at the forefront of your practice.

Our Medical Imaging Department at BHNFT operates across six scanners located at the main Trust site and the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). Our equipment includes 3 Canon Aquilion Prime SP CT scanners, 2 Siemens MRI scanners, and a Philips MRI scanner.
Main duties of the job
You will possess DCR (R) or BSc Radiography with current HCPC registration and have previous NHS experience.
Perform a wide range of MRI examinations safely and accurately, ensuring high-quality imaging to support diagnosis.
Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, prioritising their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
Operate MRI equipment efficiently, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Conduct clinical CT scans as required, applying appropriate protocols to deliver clear and diagnostic-quality images.
Operate CT equipment efficiently, adhering to all radiation safety and quality standards.
Review clinical information to tailor scanning protocols to individual patient needs.
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to deliver excellent patient care and diagnostic support.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with departmental and Trust requirements.
Support ongoing professional development and keep up to date with advances in MRI technology and techniques.
Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff and students as required.
